Product Description
Overview
Industrial explosion-proof thermocouples and RTDs are used as sensors in conjunction with display instruments for temperature measurement and control. They are designed for direct measurement and regulation of gas, liquid, and steam temperatures in production processes.
Our factory manufactures explosion-proof thermocouples and RTDs specifically for chemical applications. The explosion-proof performance is designed and manufactured according to the national standard “Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Atmospheres”. The thermal characteristics comply with international IEC standards and have been tested and certified by the National Explosion-proof Safety Supervision and Inspection Station for Instruments and Meters.
The structure, principle, and assembly method of explosion-proof thermocouples and RTDs are basically the same as those of conventional products. The main difference lies in the junction box (housing), which is made of high-strength die-cast aluminum alloy. It provides sufficient internal space, wall thickness, and mechanical strength, while the rubber sealing ring offers thermal stability in compliance with explosion-proof standards. Therefore, when explosive gas inside the junction box ignites, the internal pressure will not rupture the housing, and the resulting heat energy will not spread outside to trigger an external explosion. As long as users follow the product operating instructions strictly, reliable explosion-proof performance is ensured.

Working Principle
Explosion-proof thermocouples operate on the principle of flameproof enclosure. Components that may generate sparks, arcs, or dangerous temperatures are sealed inside the junction box with sufficient strength. If an explosion occurs inside, the flame and heat are extinguished and cooled through the narrow flamepath gaps, preventing them from spreading outside the enclosure and thereby ensuring explosion-proof safety.
